SARANGANI PROVINCE- Local law enforcement undertook a challenging six-hour expedition to uncover an alleged marijuana plantation in a remote corner of Malungon, Sarangani Province on Monday, March 12, 2024.
Police Colonel Deanry Francisco, director of Sarangani Police Provincial Office led the operation and unearthed a hidden marijuana cultivation site straddling the border between Sitio Kelil Datal in Brgy. Datal Batong, Malungon, and Sitio Nuket in Brgy. Bulol Salo, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.
Francisco identified the alleged cultivator as Jimbell Dangayan, alias “Jimbell Sinaya,” who eluded arrest amidst the rugged terrain.
Authorities confiscated an estimated 11,500 mature marijuana plants, valued at roughly P2,300,000.
Acting swiftly, law enforcement personnel promptly destroyed the seized contraband on-site, with media representatives and elected barangay officials as witnesses. Concurrently, a sample marijuana tree was preserved for examination by the Regional Forensic Unit 12.
